A transformative climate-finance project designed to monetise the ecological restoration efforts of 6,000 smallholder farmers in Busia. Unlike traditional projects that only look forward, EcoGreen uses Vintage Credit methodologies to reward farmers for the additionality they have already delivered over the past decade.
By transforming 3,000 hectares of rocky, riparian, and marginal land into a managed carbon sink, the project creates a sustainable industrial base for bamboo-based furniture, biochar, and eco-cutlery — improving education, climate, and livelihoods for over 3,000 households across 6,000 acres of reforested land.
- The Bamboo ARR Component: Advancing through Verra (VCS & CCB), utilizing vintage credits to reward historical additionality for the 6,000 smallholder farmers.
- The Biochar Component: Officially registered on Puro.earth (a NASDAQ company) under Facility ID 709136, with preliminary assessments scheduled for late 2026.
